The Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Award, an initiative of the Abu Dhabi Chamber, progressed through the final evaluation stages of its 22nd cycle after receiving more than 230 applications, over 80% more than the previous cycle. SMEs and startups accounted for around 60% of submissions, while more than 10% of company applications came from Al Ain and Al Dhafra, reflecting the Award’s expanding reach. The new framework measures private-sector impact across seven areas: talent, technology, community and society, SME champions, supply chains, export and entrepreneurship. Established in 1999 and named after the late Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Award has become a national platform for embedding innovation and sustainability in the business environment. Its evaluation process includes digital registration, initial assessment and impact interviews, overseen by independent assessors and judges. Categories include corporates, family businesses, SMEs, startups, scaleups and nominated individuals.
