The Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry led a private-sector delegation from Abu Dhabi to Shanghai, People’s Republic of China, on 11–12 June 2026, to expand the global presence of Abu Dhabi businesses and create new pathways for growth and investment.
The delegation included more than 40 companies representing advanced manufacturing, food and agriculture, financial services and investment, healthcare and life sciences, artificial intelligence and technology, infrastructure and construction, retail and trade.
The visit took place amid growing UAE–China economic relations and rising Chinese business activity in Abu Dhabi. New Chinese company memberships at Abu Dhabi Chamber increased by 85% year-on-year in 2025.
Shanghai is a major gateway for Chinese businesses expanding globally. China’s private enterprises contribute around 60% of GDP, more than 80% of urban employment and nearly 70% of innovation activities.
H.E. Ali Mohamed Al Marzouqi, Director General of Abu Dhabi Chamber, said the visit was a practical platform for creating real business opportunities, establishing long-term strategic partnerships and connecting Abu Dhabi companies directly with investors, business leaders and decision-makers in one of the world’s largest markets.
The delegation programme included meetings, business engagements and opportunities to explore partnerships across priority sectors.
