The Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Shanghai Foreign Investment Development Board (Invest Shanghai) signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding during the Chamber’s participation in the Abu Dhabi Investment Forum in Shanghai.
The MoU translates growing economic ties between Abu Dhabi and Shanghai into practical initiatives that support business growth, expand mutual investments and build sustainable partnerships between the two business communities.
It was signed by H.E. Ali Mohamed Al Marzooqi, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Chamber, and Mr. Xue Feng, President of Invest Shanghai.
The agreement comes amid growing commercial ties between Abu Dhabi and China. New memberships by Chinese companies with the Chamber increased by 85% in 2025 compared with 2024.
The MoU establishes cooperation in exchanging information about business environments and investment opportunities, facilitating market entry, improving investor services, organising economic events and forums, promoting investment jointly and arranging reciprocal trade missions.
H.E. Al Marzooqi said the agreement is an important milestone in strengthening the Abu Dhabi–China economic partnership and creating tangible value for both business communities. Mr. Xue Feng said the institutional framework would expand exchanges of expertise and investment opportunities and support concrete joint projects.
